Divisions
RCMP Veterans' Association Member Kingston Division
Obituary and Condolences
February 13, 1944 - May 12, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Gordon Dickson in
Belleville on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the age of 76.
He was predeceased
by his parents, Gordon and Jean (nee Hope) and is survived by his wife Agnes
(Aggie), his three children, David (Tomomi), Kathryn and Irene, as well as his
seven grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Jayden, Maeve, Zaine, Noah and Tristan, and
his sister Linda Lomano (Jim).
Earl was born in Ottawa and grew up in
Windsor. He joined the Force in 1964 and was posted to āJā Division, serving in
Campbellton and Moncton until 1970 when he was posted to āOā Division. There, he
served in Windsor, Toronto, St. Catherines and back to Toronto. Earl met Aggie
in Toronto in 1974 and they were married in 1978. They retired to Belleville in
1986 where Earl was instrumental in founding the Law and Security Program at
Loyalist College. He taught at Loyalist until 2007.
Earl was an avid
hockey player, so skilled that he was offered a hockey scholarship in the U.S.
which he turned down in favour of joining the Force. He played for many years on
the RCMP team in Toronto. He was also a keen boater and had many craft over the
years, sailing one of them to Newfoundland one summer. And of course he loved to
play golf. But most of all Earl was a loving husband, a proud father and an even
prouder grandfather.
Earl will be greatly missed by us all.
Due to
the COVID - 19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
