On Tuesday, September 5th, 2017, John Anthony ( Jack ) Hickman passed away at the Kingston GeneralHospital at the age of 84.

 

The funeral for Jack will be held:

WHEN: Tuesday, September 12, 2017

TIME: 10:30 A.M.

WHERE: St. François D’Assise Roman Catholic Church, 512 Frontenac Street, near Princess and Division (street parking available), Kingston .

Father Bob Masters, pastor, will be officiating the Service, assisted by our RCMP Chaplain, Archdeacon John Robertson of the Anglican Church of Canada.

DRESS CODE: Red/Blue Blazers, if available.

RECEPTION: All members of our Association are very warmly welcomed to the Service, and then to join the family, friends and colleagues, at the Dragon’s Lair upstairs in the Brew Pub at 34 Clarence Street.

Jack was very proud of being a Member of the RCMP Veterans' Association and for many, many years was on the Executive serving in different capacities: Health and Wellness Director, Webmaster and Photographer. Your time and effort were greatly appreciated, thank you! You will be missed. RIP my friend.

HICKMAN, John (Jack) - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at Kingston General Hospital with his family at his side. Jack was born October 13th, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Thomas and Kathleen (Tohill) Hickman. Jack took great pride in his career with the RCMP, from which he retired in 1975 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He subsequently pursued a career with Corrections Canada until he retired. Jack enjoyed life to the fullest, whether it be travelling, playing or enjoying music, always surrounded by dear friends. He is survived by his wife, June (nee Duncan); son, Sean (Kim); and brothers Brendan Hickman and Thom Hickman (Sherri). Jack is predeceased by his first wife Dorothea Hickman (nee Harwood) and brother, Terry Hickman. Family and friends are invited to St. Francois D'Assise Church, 512 Frontenac St, Kingston ON at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 12th where Father Bob Masters and Archdeacon John Robertson, Padre of the Kingston region of the RCMP Veterans will perform funeral services. Many thanks to the Medical teams in the ER, OR, Kidd 4 and ICU who provided such compassionate and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations to UHKF (University Hospitals Kingston Foundation), or to the St Francois D'Assise Church or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
