Obituary and Condolences

Ronald Charles Miller
1936-03-10 - 2023-10-05
On October 5, 2023 @ 7:25 PM heaven gained a very special man, my husband,
Ronald Charles Miller. We that are left behind will miss him terribly. Ron was
born in Belleville to Albert and Edna Miller. Ron has a bother Phil and two
sisters Violet (deceased) and Bernice. Ron and I were blessed with 3 children,
Richard Charles Miller, Cynthia Louise Cain (Girts Gubins) and Donna Marie
Miller and grandchildren Jeffery Miller (Erika Miller), Amanda Wilkie (Steve
Wilkie), Krystal Carriere (Phil Carrier) and Kimberly Cain (Ymer Aliko) and
Jason Miller (deceased) and great-grandchildren Justyse & Josslyne Miller,
Dakota, Declan & Dayton Wilkie, Jesse & Wyatt Aliko.
Growing up in Bellville, Ron always dreamt of becoming an RCMP officer. His
dream became reality and he joined the force in 1955. We met in February 1957
when Ron was home on leave, 5 months later we eloped and I became Mrs. Ron
Miller.
Ron worked in investigations throughout his entire life. Kingston Police for 17
years and the Province Of Ontario for 25 years.
Ron loved his sports and adventures of all kinds. He played baseball, hockey,
camped and rode horses. He especially loved his pride and joy, his palomino
horse “Tina.” We loved many years of travelling together in our motor home. Five
years of touring brought us through most of the US and Canada. Once retired, we
travelled throughout the world. Seeing places most people only dream of.
During Ron’s second retirement, Ron joined the Kingston Division of the RCMP
Verterans Association receiving his Lifetime membership. Ron loved being the
Social Convenor for the last seven years. Ron was a 48 year member of the
Gananoque Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 92. Ron was proud to have earned another
Lifetime membership there.
Ron has been known as a generous man who loved to help others. He led youth
groups, worked with church groups, sports teams and many more. Ron was always
there to lend a hand or a ride to those that needed one. We will miss him
greatly. “Go, rest high on that mountain, Ron...”
My family and I would like to thank the nurses and doctors on Connell 9 and in
the ICU at Kingston General Hospital for their tireless efforts and hard work
providing care! Special thanks to the Medicine Team, Infection Team, Cardiac
Team and the Cardiac Surgeons along with Dr. Richard Barris and Dr. Marie Leung.
Funeral to be held on Saturday October 14th at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Bethel
Gospel Church, 314 Johnson Street, Kingston followed by a Celebration of Life at
1:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion on King Street, Gananoque.
